What Is Friends With Builders

Friends With Builders is a new initiative from Friends With Benefits designed to champion creative technologists—people who move between code, design, infrastructure and culture.

It’s a cohort-based builder program for high-agency individuals building on emerging technology. We offer hands-on programming, peer support, technical mentorship and partner collaboration.

Friends With Builders is not a bootcamp, not an accelerator and not a hackathon. It’s an R&D lab for building cultural applications of emerging tech.

Who Is This For?

Friends With Builders is for creative technologists—people who move between code and designing interfaces, architect systems and consider their cultural implications. We’re backing those building novel applications: intuitive, user-centered tools that solve real problems and are powered by emerging tech as the engine, not the aesthetic.

You might be:

• Designing AI-native interfaces for knowledge retrieval, collaboration, or generative tooling
• Prototyping trust systems for multiplayer groups, guilds, or online scenes
• Building programmable rituals–sunset check-ins or community voting pulses
• Creating collaborative canvases where each interaction is recorded onchain, as art and ledger
• Reimagining the wallet as journal—annotated with intent, not just transaction hashes
• Prototyping experimental marketplaces for niche digital goods, cultural collectibles, or creative labor
• Creating autonomous agents that act more like collaborators, muses, or archivists than just task bots

If you’ve ever shipped something weird and beautiful because it just needed to exist, this program is for you. We’re looking for people building experiences that feel inevitable in retrospect.

You don’t need a full-stack résumé. You do need curiosity, taste, and a desire to build with a squad.
